3 Ways Women Can Remove Facial Hair

Blog

Every woman has hair on their face and body. This hair is light in color and very fine. However, it becomes a problem when you get unwanted and excessive hair. This condition is called hirsutism.

Hirsutism is when you get a peach fuzz on your face. The difference is the texture of the hair. It is usually dark and coarse. This hair grows on a woman's face, chest, back and arms. Here are three hair removal treatments that can remove facial hair in women.

Look Into Laser Treatment

Laser hair removal is an effective treatment for patients with light skin and dark hair. This treatment is not ideal for people with dark skin because the lasers can burn their skin. It also not a good treatment for someone with light hair because the laser targets the dark hair and pigment.

Many women consider laser treatment because they are tired of waxing, shaving, and tweezing facial hair. This treatment uses laser technology to beam highly concentrated light into your hair follicles. The follicles have pigment inside of it that absorbs the light. This light destroys the hair.

Laser treatment can decrease hair growth by 40 to 80 percent. If you do not fit the dark hair/light skin profile, then you should explore other options. However, advancements in technology is being made using laser and radio frequency to treat patients with different ethnicities.

Electrolysis

Electrolysis is a treatment that removes individual strands of hair from your face and body. It works by destroying the growth center of the hair strand using heat or chemical energy. A probe is inserted into your hair follicle, and the hair is removed using tweezers.

This treatment can be used on any type of hair color and skin. The main focus of electrolysis is to attack the follicle instead of the pigment inside of your hair.

Waxing

Waxing is another treatment for removing unwanted facial hair. This treatment uses a sticky wax on your skin and covers it with cloth strips. The wax has to dry and strips are pulled off, which pulls the hair out of your face.

There are different reasons why women have problems with unwanted hair. One of the reason is having higher than normal androgens. Certain medical condition can cause your androgens to increase. If you have problems with getting rid of unwanted facial hair, then it is time to schedule an appointment with your doctor.

Understanding Dermatology Concerns

When I started taking my skincare regimen more seriously, I started carefully evaluating my daily routine. I realized that I wasn't taking care of my skin like I should, so I met with a dermatologist to talk about the details. My skin doctor was incredibly kind and caring, and he did everything he could to explain what my skin needed. He started me on a skincare regimen that started that day, and I could tell that he was on to something. Within a few months, my skin looked clean, clear, and incredibly healthy. This blog is all about understanding dermatology concerns and knowing how to address serious problems.
